Here's what the community has to say...
WEMCCOS has helped an enormous number of youth and adults within this community. The variety of services WEMCCOS offers such as positive mentoring, educational tools, and life skills training are vital to our community. Our neighborhoods are better places because of WEMCCOS. -Frank Williamson, Alderman 26th Ward WEMCCOS is great because they reach all ages and walks of life. The positive effect on the community is drastic and far-reaching. -Angela Newsome, Committee Woman 26th Ward
I attended WEMCCOS Hip Happenings Performance Arts program. I was elated and filled with pride and joy. Our children performed in dance, singing, and poetry reading. Many of our children would not have had these opportunities and experiences without the support and dedication of the WEMCCOS staff. “Our children exhibited pride and self- confidence.” -Dr. Rhonda M. Key, Co-Superintendent, Riverview Gardens School District Many individuals and businesses alike have openly and freely given generous donations to WEMCCOS because they have recognized this as an excellent investment in a grass-root organization that is bringing tangible, real life results. The above leaders encourage you to give because:
WEMCCOS has a lot to offer its corporate partners through the formation of mutually fulfilling opportunities to maximize your philanthropic goals. There are opportunities throughout the year to showcase your business at many of our fun-filled, high exposure community events such as business expos, health fairs, performing arts productions, and other community wide major events! There are opportunities for you and your associates to be hands-on through volunteer opportunities in areas ranging from tutoring assistance to community clean up days! There are even opportunities to receive long-term recognition through our naming rights programs. While many St. Louis families struggle to affect their child’s future, WEMCCOS believes they should have an equal opportunity for their children to succeed. Our ability to leverage federal, state, and local funding and through the generous support of people like you, we are able to offer most of our services free of charge. Although most services are free to the families, it costs:
- $4,940 a year to put a child through our early childhood development program
- $2,860 a year to provide enriching exposure to the arts
- $600 per person to provide employment training and placement services to unemployed or displaced St. Louis residents….and the list goes on.
